White wine making malolactic fermentation in bottle. The result is fresh, light and refreshing wine with a fine bubble. Aroma expressive and vibrant. The notes of fruit are citrus to which the wet stone joins. Slightly full bodied, very fresh, with “needle” and high acidity. Transfer 10 days after fermentation and bottle stage where malolactic fermentation occurred. Unfiltered wine with low sulfur. Before pouring Sem Mal, you need to gently shake the bottle to homogize the wine.

Sem Igual” which translated from the Portuguese means “without equal” may sound arrogant but Joao Camizão is anything but, presenting his wines with a humble passion.
Coming from a long line of Vignerons but initially choosing a different path in Internet Technology, Joao has been irresistibly drawn back into the world of wines which runs through his blood, creating a Vinho Verde that truly is like no other.

From 10 hectares of vineyards in the subregion of Vale do Sousa, Meinedo Lousada near Porto, Joao and his superstar winemaker Jorge Sousa Pinto, have crafted a Vinho Verde that is definitely not the traditional style of extremely young/fizzy plonk known to many. Made with the local grapes of Arinto and Azal, 100% stainless steel fermentation and aging (8 months), Sem Igual is a wine of persistence and elegant acidity that demands time in the bottle (at least two years) to bring out its true characteristics, at which point the wine speaks out for itself.

We are also very pleased to offer in limited quantities, the Sem Mal 2018, a true winemakers wine.
Sem Mal is bottled just 10 days after fermentation with malolactic fermentation taking place in the bottle, producing a full bodied unique style with needle high acidity and intriguing after-notes.
